Change is a comin’…shortly.

February 14, 2012 § 2 Comments

Chaos has been reigning at The Short End, lately.

I’ve been trying to combine all my creative ventures under one roof, which I should have done in the first place.  But it’s never too late to make a change, and I’m in the process of doing just that.

The Short End blog will most likely be laid to rest, being replaced with the new and (hopefully) improved, From the Fox’s Den – which is more in tune with my new business name:  {an sionnach creative}.

As usual, it’s all a work in progress (for there is never any rest for the weary, the wicked, or whatever you like to blurt out when you’re dead tired, yet still trudging along).

From the Fox’s Den will continue to be an outlet for the musings of my hyperactive mind: photographic, written and in a few short months, homemade products (which will be available through my Etsy store:  The Fox’s Den | A Shop of Curiosities).  What those products will be has yet to be seen, but there’s a good chance you’ll find limited edition prints, pillows, purses…everything this creative fox (an sionnach = the fox, in Irish) gets the urge to fashion from scratch.  And perhaps, even soaps.  Everyone is attracted to sweet smells, even foxes ;)

Heck, I may even delve back into creating some original music.  Wouldn’t that be a hoot?!

Until the new blog is up and running, I will keep you posted with “the goings on” here at The Short End.  Thank you all for your continued support – your kind words and encouragement create the foundation for sharing my creativity with the world.

But more importantly, you all bring a little sunshine to my day – which has the added benefit of helping me hold my head up a little higher, giving the illusion that I’ve somehow gained an extra inch or two (oh yeah, over five feet, baby!).

Not so short after all, huh? ;)

***While the blog is in transition, feel free to stop by {an sionnach creative} on FB:

Despite the chaos, I am still attempting to continue my photographic journey and will post my work on those two websites.

Smile.
Be happy.
Be gracious.
Take things with a grain of salt.
Assume the best of people, not the worst.
Remember that everyone has a different perspective than you, and be grateful for the variety.
When someone rubs you the wrong way, let it roll and realize it is not worth your time or energy.
Remember that you are in charge of your own happiness.
Take a deep breath.
Smile.

Decisions

January 22, 2012 § 4 Comments

I have been spending a lot of time working on my photography lately – and not so much time writing.  Most of the posts have been photos recently, so I am debating if I should start another blog that is geared solely toward this consuming hobby of mine, continuing this one for my writing and the occasional photo.

My creativity is taking me down several paths, but which to focus on?  Or should I still try to incorporate it all into one outlet?

Ah, decisions decisions.  A bit reminiscent of “Deux Choix”, eh?
